Well its been another month since blogging - I had plans to do this every week at a minimum but as I said in my last post life got in the way! I have however been diligently knitting - firstly I finished the cardigan that has shamefully sat for a year unsewn - I have worn it but not put its cloings on yet. Its a little big but very warm and comfy. I've also finished two of the pair of socks out of three and the third second dock has been started , and finally am on the last ball of KSH for the stole. So I have made progress - albeit very slow.
The original Lornas Laces socks I started eons ago - finally I have a pair, they are wonderful and really great to wear. They don't bend out of shape and are not super soft but are firm and super warm. I will definitely be knitting more of these.
These are ones I started at Bendigo and are the Regia Jubilee range - very trusty socks that go well with anything although I must fess up and tell you that one sock is smaller down the leg than the other. I had a moment and instead of casting on 64 st which is my standard foot I cast on 60 and knitted right down to the flap before noticing. anyway did some increasing at the gusset and finished the sock off with 64. It ok - I hate to rip!
Now for the Jo Sharp Cardi I did in Plum 12 ply Rustic yarn from Bendigo - I must have bought it about 10 years ago (something old)
You'll notice the cardi is a bit wide but its really lovely for the footy and cold wintry days.
The next thing is that the Birch stole is now quite long and two balls down but I am heartily sick of knitting it - pics will be in the next post.
Something new and something blue are the new purchases where I took advantage of DH making a flying visit to the States - All that saving on postage - irresistible!
A serious input to the knitting library - I ordered The art of Fair Isle knitting, Christmas Stockings, Knitting Vintage Socks, Yarn Harlots book, and the Celtic Collection from Amazon. Not here but from other sources I have recently added three EZ books and Folk Socks to the collection too.
How about some Jaggerspun Laceweight on the left is Superlamb 100% Merino in Loden and the 'something blue' on the right is the much talked abut and blogged about Zephyr in Indigo. There is a serious amount of yarn on these cones about 5000 yards from memory! Jessica from Weaving Rainbow was extremely helpful in getting this to me.
Finally some Koigu deliciousness. The five skeins on the left are for Charlottes web in The Knitting Zone's Egg Hunt colourway, and the four on the right are for socks - the colourways are divine and I'll be interested to see how they knit up.
Well thats about it for now - I must admit looking at the heading I didn't have something borrowed but the rest fit! Happy knitting - Lisa
so like, um sockmoster, blog already!
