Knit Time

Struggling with time to knit and I know I could get up early and be dedicated to the task but I just don't have the energy.  Been coughing my lungs out this week along with all the children - just a virus and I think we are coming out the other end.

Knitty things to do this weekend

• Meet with knit friends
• Gift Saartjes booties for Aleah (photo to come)
• Gift Sonias hat (all sewn up)
• finish cables on Eunnys Tangled Yoke Cardigan
• (Snowballs chance stuff) tidy yarn room and upload stash and project pics to Rav

Life things to do this weekend

• 7-10 loads of washing
• engagement party for cousin Sat night
• arrange borrowing a suit for older boys formal football vote count
• Buy cricket gear for boy
• ferry older boy to golf (and back)
• ferry daughter to work (and back)
• supermarket shopping
• etc etc etc!

I also have a lot of difficulty managing photos - I seem to end up with them all on different pieces of computing hardware - my phone photos I'll upload to the blog over the weekend hopefully.

Hopefully if I get all my passwords and URLS and photos aligned the next post will be a lot more photo heavy! Lisa

Cryptic!

Here a a couple more little knits.  Note the little bootees are angora and not pink but more burgundy.  The kimono needs to be trimmed with some ties but I will wait until the sex of the recipient is known.

The littlest knit!

Hey there, do you love my littlest knit.  Its for a person I haven't met yet and no I'm not pregnant.  Anyway no hints for a few weeks but I know the person will want to have a look so here it is.

I'm under instructions Blog or Die - so stuff neatness, something pithy, something meaningful all thats coming is a few photos

St Brigid started, Fir Cone Shawl almost finished - 1700 rows of lace edging to do and nearly half way there - and a quick scarf from stash to feel a sense of achievement in Caldo a big thick yarn from Germany

Go look at Little knits good sale - never bought from them before but it looks good.

Mum and those Mitts

Just thought I'd share a photo of my Mum on her holiday in New Zealand with her new Thrummed mittens - that got there the morning she was due to leave to go on holidays.

GERMANY ORDER DETAILS

Hi there - thought I'd put up some details for the Germany order.

The plan is:
I order what you want from Germany and then when its in you pay and I send

You can choose from the yarns at the Wollfactory website.  Go to the Zum Shop and then to Sockenwolle from there you will see 3 brands Zitron, Regia and Lana Grossa.  Have a look through and take down the name and numbers of the yarn you want - remember you need 100gm usually for a pair of socks.  Email me your requests. I can get anything on her website if you want something different I will get you a quote.

Lana Grossa is $14 for 100gm, Regia is $16 and I will need to check on the Zitron which includes the very popular and slightly more expensive Trekking which will be $17 this year.

I check the availability and let you know if I can't get something.

Dates - lets have all orders in by 25th March by email to me on the above email or at [email protected] and we will have the order done in the next week or so, three to five weeks for delivery, then I'll let you know how much to pay.  Payment can be made by direct debit, cheque or Paypal.

Opal yarn is treated differently and I will put an order in for that if I get a minimum of ten balls ordered. ($17.50 a ball)

I am not able to order Lornas anymore but have still got sock yarn in Old Rose sold, Tahoe sold, Island Blue sold, China Blue, Happy Stripes sold and  Jungle Stripe sold. ($25 for two skeins)

Shipping is $4.50 for up to 500grams and $8.10 for up to 3kg provided it fits in the Express bags.

I've finally got myself wireless

I've finally got myself wireless!  yay - we have had the laptop since January and the wireless network since around the same time but haven't got around to setting upsome of the programs and bookmarks I needed to get active on it - besides the 13 yr old has it hijacked most of the time for MSN and various other activities.

Knitwise I have been doing some small projects.  Finally finished the Shedir from Knitty.com for a girlfriend going through the fires of lung cancer, did a pair of thrummed mittens for my mum who was heading to
NZ for a couple of weeks.  I am continuing on the Opal Moss socks and have started a pair of legwarmers for my sister.  Oh and I also did some wristwarmers for my sister in Vancouver.

BREAKING NEWS

I'm going to do another order to Germany so if you are interested in ordering I am hoping to order on or around the end of the month.  Go to Wollfactory and to Sockenwolle and have a look see if you would like anything and then let me know.  I will check price and availability and let you know if there is anything not available.  It will be the usual $14 or $16 dollars (subject to prices still being ok from Wollfactory) and payment is due just prior to delivery.  I'm also going to do a bit of a clearout and put some yarn up on the Sockmonster Sales blog so if anything takes your fancy let me know.
